Offered is a splendid example of a late brilliant period American floral cut piece of glass. This beautiful compote stands 7 3/4" tall. The bowl is adorned with 6 cut thistles on stems. It sits upon a airtrapped teardrop stem. The stem is cut with notched flutes. The foot has a 48 ray, cut star. The compote was acid polished. I searched the whole piece over for a signature with no luck. It glows a lime green under black light and weighs 3lbs 3oz.
Measurements: 7 3/4" tall, 6" bowl diameter
Condition: Good
There are no cracks, fractures. The bottom of the foot has normal wear on the bottom. One tooth is chipped. A portion of the point of the tooth is gone., please see enlarge photo. The piece still displays wonderfully. Very unnoticeable when displayed.
