This auction is for a Set of 9 "Poker Hands ~ Know When to Hold Them". They are the originals done by me, Carol Megivern.
Over the holidays, when the family gets together, the deck of cards are always bought out and a friendly game of poker is played. On the off chances when two or more get some high ranking cards, a heated discussion always ensues as to who has the highest of the hands!
This inspired me to paint the highest ranking hands in standard poker (no wild cards!)
And the ranking begins, from highest to lowest: First: Royal Flush, five highest cards (A-K-Q-J-10) of the same suit in sequence. Second: Straight Flush, five cards of the same suit in sequence. Third: Four of a Kind, four cards of same rank. Fourth: Full House, three cards of one rank and 2 cards of another rank. Fifth: Flush, five cards of the same suit. Sixth: Straight, five cards in two or more suits, ranking consecutively. The ace can be either played as high or low. Seventh: Three of a Kind, three cards of the same rank. Eighth: Two Pair, two cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. Ninth: One Pair, two cards of the same rank.
Note: No Pair loses to any hand having a pair or higher ranking combination. As between two or more such hands, the one containing the highest card wins. And if wild cards are used, 5 of a kind is the highest ranking combination.

These original works of art are done in acrylics on heavy paper, their sizes are 3-1/2" x 2-1/2".
They are each titled, signed by artist (me), and dated on the back.
And will be mailed with each in their own protective sleeve.
ACEO's (Art Cards Editions and Originals) are miniature works of art the size of playing cards, that is, 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
ACEO's are a popular collectible, that provides a way to collect artwork that is affordable and portable.
There are many ways to display ACEO's: in a miniature frame, slipped into a kitchen magnet sleeve for the 'fridge, can be attached to greeting cards by using photo corners, they are the exact size as trading cards so they'll fit into trading card albums, and the list can go on as far as the imagination!
