"Blueprint" pen, a design by Constantin Boym. 5 ¼” long with the cap closed. Black and chrome accents with a blueprint-style finish of dark blue color and white dimension markings. Artist’s signature is engraved on the cap band, and “ACME” is on the clip.

This auction is for a NEW ACME Studio writing instrument. This product is current and is “brand new”. The instrument comes equipped with roller ball components using German manufactured Schmidt ink refills (fine point, non-drying), and includes new ACME Studio packaging. Packaging includes a lined metal presentation box, with sleeve, and ACME Studio literature.

ACME Studio writing instruments are well designed with a comfortable weight and shape. Pens are constructed using brass barrels with hand applied serigraph color images – the finest lacquers are used with a final protective clear coat.  Quality manufacturing is demonstrated by metal-to-metal threading. This is a designers’ writing instrument for a designer and/or an enthusiast with a keen sense of style.

Constantin Boym

Born in Moscow, Russia in 1955, Constantin graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute. In 1985, he earned a Master’s degree in design from Domus Academy in Milan. In 1986, he established Boym Design Studio in New York City. His studio’s designs include tableware for Alessi and Authentics, watches for Swatch, and exhibition installations for many American museums, including Cooper-Hewitt, and National Design Museum in New York. In 1998, Boym Design Studio started a three-year-long catalogue project “Souvenirs for the End of the Century”, to be culminated in the end of the year 2000. Boym teaches at Parsons School of Design in New York, where he is a coordinator of the Product Design department.
