| ![]() As its title suggests it, Draconomicon is completely devoted to the dragons of the Forgotten Kingdoms. It is composed of nine chapters which four short adventures come to supplement. Chapter 1 - Reference This first chapter starts by examining the possible origins of the dragons, through extracts of various fictitious works, supplemented by a study of the evolution of the draconic races, family tree with the support. Then a copier section devoted to the social relations between the various species comes from dragons. The last tackled subject is that of the religion and the relationship between the dragons and the gods. Chapter 2 - Geography Each race of dragon has its ground of predilection, which this chapter describes. One also learns the various sites there from the Forgotten Kingdoms where the dragons are particularly numerous. Chapter 3 - Psychology dragon The dragons are much more than of large reptiles sleeping on a monticule of gold coins. This chapter details the psychology of the dragons: their motivations, their practices of coupling, their report/ratio with the ecosystem, but also “rebels” and relations between the dragons and the humanoïdes. Chapter 4 - Dragons role-Playing This chapter is addressed in particular to the players who would wish to raise a dragon since his blossoming. All the process is explained in details, with its many constraints and the various shelves to be avoided. One will also find all the systems necessary to incarnate truly a dragon (high or wild). Chapter 5 - Dragon Hall of Fame Here a gallery presenting nine of the most outstanding dragons of the Forgotten Kingdoms. Each one is presented with its characteristics, its history, its personality and its motivations. Chapter 6 - New Species Dragon After having proposed some rules on the crossings between dragons of different color, this section presents four new draconic species: the mercury dragon to the luminous breath, terrible the dracohydre, the dragon of impassioned steel of human culture and which prefers to live the cities of the men, and the yellow dragon amateur of hot and arid deserts. Chapter 7 - Magic This chapter is a collection of fates reserved for the dragons. One will find there also various objects magic draconic. Chapter 8 - Hunter' S Guides Here a small guide with the use of the enough bold adventurers to leave to hunting to the dragons. It abounds in councils on the way of tracking them, the best period to attack them, the best tactics to be applied at the time of the combat, etc Chapter 9 - Miscellaneous Information This final chapter gathers a collection of heteroclite articles on the dragons: draconic after-life, the relationship between the dragons and plans of existence, dragons space (“spelljamming dragons”), and finally the detailed description of Draconomicon, the black book supposed to contain all the knowledge on the Dragons of Faerûn. Four small adventures come to supplement the work. Each one puts in scene a particular aspect of the universe of the dragons, but all are addressed to experienced characters.
