 Adhesive pellets are the traditional way to install pads in  woodwind instruments, especially clarinet.

Simply place the pellets into the pad cup and heat the pad cup with an alcohol lamp, pad heater, small butane torch or other small heat source. Place the pad into the pad cup when the pellets melt and use your pad leveler tool to level the pad (see my other items for pad leveler).

You may need to heat the cup again in order to seat the pad. 1-2 pellets is enough for small pads, 3-6 for larger pads - on Bb soprano clarinets.
