We are NON-SMOKERS but do live in an apt complex with heavy-smoking neighbors, so unfortunately, there is a good possibility that cigarette odors may come through the walls or ducting and onto our clothing. Also, we buy some of our items pre-owned, so we cannot guarantee that the item has NEVER been in a smoking environment. However, because we are not smokers ourselves, one wash should get any lingering cigarette odors out.
