Announcing the launch of Optix v5 AF-chip firmware
May 15, 2009. marks the 3-year anniversary of our online AF-Confirm adapter business and we are now offering the latest Optix v5 AF-chip firmware.
The Optix v5 is the firmware allowing you to change the Focal length, Maximum aperture and Fine-tune Focus accuracy for your lens. All confirmed settings will be saved into the AF-chip hardware and memorized without need of power, just like the flash memory you use every day.
This new AF-chip firmware works with ALL Canon EOS cameras but the Data Setting function only works on digital EOS cameras.
So far the new data setting function has been field-tested successfully on digital EOS camera models in the following list:
1000D, 300D, 350D, 400D, 450D, 500D
10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 5D, 5Dmk2, 7D
1D, 1Dmk2, 1Dmk2N, 1Dmk3
Compatibility test results on other digital EOS camera models will be added soon.
By choosing the new Optix v5 AF-chip you will receive a detailed User Guide and quick card on how to operate the data setting function with ease. These documents are also downloadable by the Links under the demonstration video below.
You may still tell us the initial focal length and aperture value to preset for your adapter AND you can change it by yourself following steps in the User Guide.
In order to enable this change we have upgraded our AF-chip hardware for some months. Year 2009 sold adapters are all hardware ready for this new Optix v5 firmware. Customers who have bought our AF-Confirm adapter since year 2009 can send their adapters for firmware upgrade at a one-time cost of US$5 and air mail shipping charge. After this firmware upgrade you will be able to use the new data setting function of Optix v5.
