Attention!!! I know you see these other auctions for the AKG C-3000 B. Yes it’s new and it is easy to get distracted by shiny new things, but don’t do it!!!!

What we have here is the AKG C3000. It is the C3000 B’s older brother. In my opinion AKG made a huge mistake when they revamped the microphone. So here is your opportunity to by a C 3000 that sounds awesome and looks brand new. This Microphone is in 100% working order!!!!

• AKG large-diaphragm microphone technology.
• Cardioid polar pattern for multiplicity of vocal and instrument applications.
• -10db pad switch.
• Low end frequency -roll off switch.

The C3000 sounds much like the AKG C414 which is a $1000 microphone. The C3000 is a rock solid mic. It really shines when it comes to recording vocals but it also is phenomenal with acoustic guitars, wind, percussion and as a drum overhead. In the latter application, the LF filter is useful, as it helps minimize phase cancellation between close-miked drums and the same sounds being picked up in the overheads.

In many sound reviews tested on both sung and spoken vocals, the C3000 turned in a powerful, solid performance. Just like the 414, it has really nice high’s that don’t produce a lot of sibilance unlike the newer AKG 3000 B. In my opinion the C-3000 B has way too much sibilance. The low end is has a nice full and warm sound, but it isn't mushy or flabby; instead the mic delivers a tight and well-controlled sound across the whole vocal range.
