UP FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS THIS WONDERFUL 1930'S VINTAGE DESK/BANKERS LIGHT. AFTER READING UP ON ALADDDIN LAMPS I FOUND THAT THIS WAS NOT MADE BY THE ALADDIN LAMP CO. YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH. IT WAS MADE BY IT'S COMPETITOR IN MUNCIE, INDIANA. THEY WERE REFERRED TO AS "ALADDIN-MUNCIE LAMPS". THOUGH MANY OF THEIR LAMPS WERE NOT STAMPED, THIS ONE IS!! IN 1935 ALADDIN MANTLE CO. WAS GIVEN FULL PATENT RIGHTS TO THE NAME ALADDIN. IN 1936 MUNCIE CHANGED THEIR NAME TO GENERAL LAMPS CO. AND WENT OUT OF BUSINESS IN 1959. THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, BEING STAMPED, PROVES IT WAS MADE BEFORE 1936. I HAVE TRIED TO TAKE AS MANY PHOTOS AS POSSIBLE TO GIVE YOU A TRUE FEELING OF IT'S WONDERFUL WORKMANSHIP. VERY HANDSOME INDEED. AND A TRUE VINTAGE LAMP!! IT MEASURES 15" TALL AND THE BASE MEASURES 6.75" WIDE. THE ORIGINAL GREEN GLASS SHADE IS GONE.
