Rose Montees / Sewons : Vintage Swarovski Vitrail Medium
Expensive, but
worth it. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Try as I might I could not get these stones to photograph as
vibrantly or beautifully as they are in person. This
is Swarovski effect color Vitrail Medium which throws flashes
of color in the deep jewel tone range
range. In this stone, the edge remains dark
pinky-red-orange and
the color in the center changes in the blue-gold-green-blue
range as it moves. These are
set in deep walled silver toned settings with a double set
of holes. I see these as a perfect centerpiece to a
bold ring design strung up with silver plate wire and semi
precious rock crystal beads interspersed with bits of
Swarovski colored crystal in the the green-yellow range
(or as a centerpiece to a glam necklace creation), but this
would look just as stunning in the center of a large ribbon
(or fabric) flower (on a purse, dress, or shoe). These measure
18mm in diameter x 17mm "thick" and can stand up
to a thick fabric or beadwork 3-d technique.

Possible uses
for this bead: A large substantial bead suitable for use as
a focal bead in a necklace, ring, or bracelet design. Jewelry
including wired cagework designs, to decorate clothing,
purses, shoes.
Suggested companion beads: rock crystal chip beads or
semi-precious gemstones in irregular cuts show these off
beautifully, as does velvet and silk wide ribbon worked into
roses.
