(Internal #P55-17) You are bidding on this natural, genuine, TWO beautiful pieces of Baltic ORANGE Amber from Poland, mined on the shores of the Baltic Sea; set in .925 sterling silver as an OVAL SHAPED pendant.   This is the exact item you would receive.  New, flawless, our jewelry does NOT have bug inclusions but may have other natural crystal formations within it.  We have hand picked these for their extraordinary variation of colors that make amber so mystical.
 
Pendant measures 2-1/8" long including top loop x 15/16" wide; top loophole is 3/8" x 3/16"  for necklace chain or collar (no necklace is included in this auction).  Photography is unretouched.

Baltic Amber is considered the "warmest gem stone".  It is fossilized pine resin (NOT sap, by the way) that dates to 20-50 million years ago!  It has been found in 250 documented colors (from clear to black and everything in between), from the shores of the Baltic Sea.  There is a blue clay layer full of amber which is mined with water cannons, transported to a facility where it is cleaned, cut, and mounted in .925 sterling silver by Polish and Russian artisans into not just jewelry, but works of art. 
 
THE SHORT STORY ON AMBER
Lofty pine trees secreted a golden, thick resin; as it flowed it imprisoned for eternity, leaves, feathers, buds and even, at times, whole insects which are perfectly preserved.  Amber has the longest and most fascinating history of the organic gems - such as pearls and diamonds - and apart from being extremely beautiful it has been an invaluable source of information to biologists and geologists because of the wonderful prehistoric treasures trapped in this jewel.
