For your consideration is a very early example of a U.S.A. made zither or piano harp. Lovely vintage condition, no cracks or damage to be seen, natural ageing to paintwork which is inevitable for an item of this great age, old original strings in need of tuning. Paper label inside soundhole says: "PIANO HARP Number One Special - Sole Agents for the British Empire - Made in U.S.A." Must be an early prototype. Please scrutinise the photographs, contact Seller for more photos if required. Beautiful diagram showing musical notation for each string actually painted on its front along with painting of eagle holding red ribbon in beak saying "E. Pluribus Unum." Instrument weighs in the region of 2.50 kilos. Width = 16" or 40.50 cms, height = 22.50" or 57 cms. Fascinating museum piece.
