This book comes from old new stock, vintage yellowing, undistributed first printing copy. This carefully researched collection of period fashions worn by an upper middle class family of the 1930s includes ten dolls (spanning three generations) and 30 different full-color costumes accurately depicting new trends toward a broad-shouldered look for women, below-the-knee hemlines, sports jackets with slacks for men. Among the clothes depicted are single-breasted business suits, cuffed slacks, pullover sweaters, tuxedos and more for the men, and soft flowing, longer dresses, a two-piece knit suit, a casual skirt and jacket (accompanied by bobby socks and saddle shoes), a satin wedding gown with a bias-cut skirt, and other attire for ladies.
