A Note To The New Collector
Collecting modern toys is fun. In most cases, it is a far less costly treasure hunt than seeking the true antiques, as well as more easily done. The gratification of coming upon that long-searched-for toy is wonderful, but the thrill of the hunt is what appeals to most of us. With rare exception, you will find "toy people" an agreeable lot and you may form many new friendships.
The Toys In This Book
Most of the toys pictured here are from my own collection. If a toy belongs to someone else or the photograph was taken by someone else, credit is given beneath the photo. I want to thank the "toy people" from all over the country who have sold me toys, sent their toys to me to photograph and return, or who have sent photos of their own toys for my use. They are as generous and helpful a group as could be found anywhere. Special thanks to a special lady, Mary E. McCaughey, for her help in getting this book in shape for the printers; and thanks to my friend, Sharon Vantuyl, for supplying several
play set pieces to complete my sets for the photos.
