For auction is a scabbard from a Model 1840 Ames Cavalry Saber. It was purchased with an Ames Saber dated 1851. With the throat in place it fits my 1851 and 1857 dated Ames Cav Sabers like a glove. I needed the throat from this scabbard for another one I have.
The scabbard is in very good condition with a smooth patina overall. There are some areas of light pitting and some rust.... {see pics...}.
This is a great opportunity to get an original Ames scabbard for that cavalry saber you have, or just to get a peice of American Civil War history to display on its own !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
