Up for auction is this nice set from Ampex. It's the Ampex Tuner #008, Pre Amp and dual Amplifiers.

Here's a little more info on each unit..
The Tuner is 117V 60 CPS, 78 watts. AM/FM.

Tubes fitted are as follows;
1) EZ80 Mullard
2) Eye Tubes 1 RCA & 1 Amperex Bugleboy
1) 6BV8 GE
3) 6BA6 RCA
1) 6BE6 RCA
1) 12AT7 Amperex Bugleboy
2) 12AU7 Amperex Bugleboy
1) 6BK7 GE
1) 6AB4 GE
2) 6AU6 GE
1) 6AL5 RCA

The Ampex PreAmp has left & right RCA jacks for TAPE, PHO, AM, FM, EXT., REC., AMPL. On left side has power cord plug-ins for AMPL, AMPL PHONO (3A TOTAL) & TUNER & TAPE. (2.8A TOTAL)

Tubes fitted for this unit are as follows;
1 12AU7 RCA
3 12AX7 2 RCA & 1 CBS

The dual amplifiers are identical. They both have two power cord plug-ins 117V 2A. aux. power port, 1 RCA jack for signal and 1.5a fuses.

The tubes fitted for these are as follows;
1) 6CA4 RCA
2) 6973 RCA
1) 12AU7 RCA
1) EF86 Amperex Bugleboy

1) 6CA4 Matsushita
2) 6973 RCA
1) 12AU7 Telefunken
1) EF86 Amperex Bugleboy

System powers up just fine. All front display lights come on. I couldn't get the tuner to get any stations on AM or FM. Cosmetically, it's in outstanding condition. Tuner is missing it's housing. I believe this is a rack mount system.

This awesome audio system was acquired from a friend who has to relocate his business. He's going to be thinning out his vintage audio inventory and I'll be listing some of these items on ebay. He's excellent at restoring vintage audio equipment and is a perfectionist. So know this and bid with confidence. Here's a few photos of his shop..
