Three ancient glass disc shaped beads, at least one of which is a lovely iridescent blue glass (the other two are covered with a white deposit disguising their true color), from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region, dating from the early Roman era, about 100 BC, more or less. Some collectors might classify these as spindle whorls, but I think they were designed mainly as beads. The condition is mostly good, showing great age and wear overall (especially the two white beads), about 15 to 19 mm in diameter and 6 to 8 mm in thickness. |
