A rare American oil painting on canvas from the 19th century of hanging green grapes with leaves and stems. Superbly painted with fine details, this beautiful gem is painted by the most successful Baltimore artist of the second half of the 19th century. Andrew Way specialized in and was extremely famous for his still-life painting especially his near palpable portraits of hanging grapes. A typical painting of this well listed American marine artist.

CONDITION: the painting has been lined, there is minor craquelure on the upper left, a very tiny area of paint loss on the upper left edge, some paint loss around the edges of the canvas and evidence of inpainting in these edge areas under the edges of the frame
