Swimming Underground is Mary Woronov's candid account of her years spent in the Factory with Andy Warhol. It is not the usual rose-colored story of America's legendary icon. This is the startling flip side of that icon, where drugs, perverse sex, and distorted reality were the norm.

Mary Woronov later moved to Los Angeles and became instantly acclaimed for her role as Mary in the cult film noir classic, Eating Raoul.

This hardcover book with dust jacket has 231 pages and measures 9 3/4 x 6 1/4. It is in very good condition, and the dust jacket blurb is not price clipped; rather it shows the original price of $19.95. The jacket is slightly bumped along the spine, and there's some shelfwear, otherwise fine.

This book is HAND SIGNED by the author Mary Woronov, with a dedication to Chris Soular on the title page.

For true fans (and perhaps even detractors) of Andy Warhol, collectors, dealers and students of his life and career, this book helps round off the portrait, and provides even deeper insight-- and a different perspective-- into the entire Factory scene. Some of what Woronov writes you've heard before, but there's enough new to make this book well worthwhile part of your library.

And very cool that it is hand signed by the author, a former sculpture student at Cornell who wandered into Warhol's Factory in 1964, who is now a mini-celebrity in some circles-- and one of the last survivors of that whole group.
