Here's a great example of 60's Lobby Card ad art from Sid Pink's Scifi B-Movie Classic
The film follows the first manned flight to Mars after it returns after being
thought lost in space.
Only 2 survivors of the original 4 are aboard.
1 has a green growth on his arm, & nothing that the doctors do will kill it.
Another, under hypnosis, tells of their adventures on Mars.
Thought to be a dead planet, it's inhabited with man-eating plants, giant Bat-Rat-Spider-Crab monsters,
a strange city on a lake, & a one-eyed monster that dissolves anything that it swallows or touches...
The "Cinemagic" process, used for all scenes on the surface of Mars,
was the result of an attempt to turn live-action footage directly into hand-drawn animation - or to simulate that.
This would enable hand-drawn backgrounds to look as real
(or as unreal) as the live action footage...
