AN ANTIQUE LATE VICTORIAN, ca. 1890's, UNSIGNED LOETZ AUSTRIA GLASS RUFFLED AND HOBNAILED BOWL. THE GLASS IS MOTTLED GREEN IN CLEAR THAT CHANGES TO A RUBY AT THE RUFFLE. THE SURFACE IS IRIDIZED IN RAINBOW COLORS. THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE BOWL IS THE DISC THAT SCREWS INTO THE FANCY RENAISSANCE REVIVAL SILVER PLATE BASE. BASE UNMARKED. COMPOTE MEASURES 10-1/2" TALL BY 12-3/4" DIAMETER. GLASS WITH STRONG IRIDESCENCE, NO CRACKS OR CHIPS OR BURST BUBBLES. THE METAL STAND IS WITHOUT BREAKS OR LOSSES, ORIGINAL SOLDERINGS. SLIGHT WEAR TO SILVER.
