AN ANTIQUE, ca. 1810, SOLID MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD IN HEPPLEWHITE STYLE. THE CENTER DRAWER HAS A PAIR OF ORIGINAL BRASS PULLS WITH BACKPLATES EMBOSSES HAVING SPREAD AMERICAN EAGLE WITH BANNER IN BEAK READING: E PLURIBUS UNUM. STRING INLAYS TO FRONTS, STRIPS OF MAHOGANY VENEERS AROUND TOP EDGE, BANDED ON LEGS, AND BELOW DRAWER. CASE MADE OF PINE, WITH THE DRAWER FRAME OF MAPLE WITH CHAMFERED BOTTOM BOARD TO THE DRAWER. ALL LOCKS AND KEYHOLES PRESENT, NO KEY. SIDEBOARD MEASURES 35-¾" TALL BY 70" WIDE BY 23-¾" DEEP. VERY GOOD CONDITION: VERY NICE OLD REFINISH, SOME FINISH WEAR FROM SCRAPES ON FRONT. NO LOSSES TO INLAYS. THE LARGEST OF THE TWO OF THE TOP BOARDS HAS A HORIZONTAL SHRINKAGE CRACK [WITH CRUDE PLYWOOD BOARDS GLUED TO UNDERSIDE OF THE BOARD AT THE CRACK FOR STRENGTHENING.] EACH SIDEBOARD END BOARD ALSO WITH MINOR HORIZONTAL SHRINKAGE CRACK. THE CURVED DOORS EACH OPEN TO AN UNSTAINED COMPARTMENT, THE CENTER DOORS ALSO OPEN TO AN UNSTAINED COMPARTMENT.
