ANTIQUE 1888 COLLECTABLE LARGE WOOD AND METAL WORKING RUG TOOL WITH LARGE NEEDLE. THIS WAS A RECENT PURCHASE FROM A FARM ESTATE SALE IN GRANGER, INDIANA. IT IS MARKED, OR SIGNED WITH PATD. JAN. 29 1988. IT DOES NOT HAVE A COMPANY NAME. IT APPEARS TO BE HAND MADE. IT WORKS BY PUTTING YOUR HANDS ON THE 2 WOOD HANDLES, ANS SLIDING ONE IN A UPWARD MOTION, AND THEN PULLING IT DOWN TO MAKE THE STITCH, OR WEAVE OF THE RUG YOU ARE MAKING. IT WORKS GREAT, AND HAS A LARGE NEEDLE ATTACHED, A THREAD GUIDE, , SEVERAL METAL SCREWS, OR KNOBS FOR TENSION. WOOD HANDLES HAVE SOME KIND OF FLORAL PATTERN ON THEM, BUT ARE FADED. WOOD HANDLES ARE IN GOOD SHAPE, BUT HAVE OLD PATINA, SOME PAINT OFF, AND A FEW SMALL LIGHT SURFACE CHIPS OUT OF THE WOOD. I SEE NO CRACKS. THIS IS REALLY A GREAT OLD PIECE  OF HISTORY, AND STILL WORKS!! IT MEASURES: 10 " HIGH, AND 4 1/2 " AT THE BOTTOM HANDLES. ADD THIS TO YOUR COLLECTION TODAY!!! I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS CAME FROM A SMOKING HOME OR NOT. ITEM IS SOLD AS IS AND AS DESCRIBED TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.
