ANTIQUE 1937 WESTERN ELECTRIC 202 ART DECO TELEPHONE

This auction is for an ANTIQUE 1937 WESTERN ELECTRIC 202 ART DECO TELEPHONE with 634BA SUBSET. This wonderful old telephone is from the collection of a retired 30 year Michigan Bell employee. I'll be selling his large collection of old phones in the coming weeks and months. This phone has been throughly gone over, tested and certified as ready to use with modular line cord. Just plug it in, and you're ready to make and receive calls on this wonderful 72 year old phone! I've tried it in my home for a week, and it works great. I love the way the large bells ring when I get a call! This D-1 oval base 202 phone is a nice find! Inside the base, it's dated IV 37. It has the 5H clickity-clack Z/operator dial which is dated 11-49. It has it's original F-1 bakelite handset. Inside the handset, the transmitter is dated I/42, and the receiver is dated 6-30-39. The phone is in very nice used condition. Both the handset cord, and the cord running to the subset are original black rubber cords. The leather bottom of the base is in great condition. The D-1 base is still a nice glossy black. It has light paint wear around the cradle, but still displays very nicely (please see pictures). The porcelian dial has been well used but still spins and returns as it should. The black and red lettering show wear, especially the number 1. The handset is in very good condition. The black paint on the 634 BA subset (ringer box) is still in very nice condition and displays very nicely as well. Inside the subset, the induction coil is dated III 41, and the ringer has the number 2150. This lovely art deco phone will make a great addition to a collection, or make a great conversation piece as part of your rooms decor! Thank you for viewing my auctions, and GOOD LUCK!
