Up for auction is this awesome pair of early antique authentic deep sea scuba diving boots. These are made of leather on top, then copper or bronze, wood and lead on the bottom. They are very heavy and weigh almost 40 pounds together. Talk about character, if they could only talk. I took them to a nautical fleamarket show that they have once a year here in Rockport and they were the talk of the show. Most of the old folks had never even seen anything like it. They are huge 14 inches long, 5 1/4 wide, 9 1/4 tall and the soles are 2 1/2 inches deep. The leather isn't in the best of condition, but considering what they were used for they are still very attractive and show what primitive diving was all about. I would be scared to death to put them on and jump into the water. I don't really know how old they are. The only ones on Ebay at this time are canvas and have a brass tip. These boots are older than those boots and they said on their auction that theirs were made sometime in the 50's. Perhaps you know and could let me know? These primitive diving boots will make a great addition to your maritime nautical collection. Thank you for looking. Check out my other auctions if you get a chance.
