This auction will feature an antique 'BRASS & BLACK BAUSCH & LOMB MICROSCOPE'. Circ. approx. 1900. Comes in a somewhat larger period case (well-used with scratches), that probably is not original but fits well and is sound (no key). Instrument stands 12 inches high and will extend to over 16" fully extended. In working condition with a clear field, but the rack and pinion is very tight and works best using both knobs simultaneously. Fine focus knob does not seem to be in working order. Cosmetic condition is excellent plus, showing no abuse or damage. Brass has a nice gold-tone patina and the black base is pretty much perfect. Sub-stage mirror silvering is perfect on both sides. Highly suitable as a display microscope for a medical professional's shelf or desk... Very reasonable reserve
