Rare Lilac & White - Tiverton - Cobridge

Lovely antique relief molded stoneware English jug. Rare lilac ground with white relief and trim. This jug is simply beautiful. Well marked and identified. Re: Kathy Hughs, Volume II & Tim Peake. Please see pictures and details listed below.

Origin: William Brownfield, Cobridge, England.

Circa: Registered c. 1865.

Pattern: Tiverton.

Mark/Sign: Registry pressed mark on the base. Faux registry mark is difficult to read, but the pattern name Tiverton-24-Cobridge-WB can be made out within the impressed circle surrounding the triangle patent mark. The #8 has been incised outside the circle.

Condition: See pictures. Lovely piece. Fine: very well with understanding of age and production methods of the time. Clean. Holes for lid, but no sign of one ever used. Tiny "shallow color surface only" firing lines from manufacturer on one side of the handle, left side facing.

Size: 7" Tall.
