AN UNUSUAL ANTIQUE, ca. 1890's, BOMBE FORM DRESSER WITH LARGE MIRROR. THE DRESSER OF CARVED SOLID MAHOGANY OR WITH FLAME MAHOGANY VENEERS ON PLAIN SURFACES. THE REMOVABLE HARP SECTION WITH SERPENTINE BEVELED MIRROR, HAS TWO GRIFFIN HEADS CARVED ON THE POINTS OF THE HARP, THE MIRROR FRAME WITH DEEP CARVED CARTOUCHE AND FEATHERED LEAVES. THE DRESSER ITSELF HAS THREE DEEP CARVED SCROLL LEAF DRAWER FRONTS, THE CENTER DRAWER BOWED. FINELY CARVED ACANTHUS LEAF CORNERS EITHER SIDE OF THE SMALL TOP DRAWERS. THE BOWED DRAWER HAS AN ELABORATE CARVING OF SCROLL LEAVES, THE DRAWER BENEATH WITH CARVING THAT ECHOES THE MIRROR CREST CARVING. TWO LOWER DRAWERS WITH ORIGINAL BRASS BAIL PULLS AND ESCUTCHEN. NICELY CARVED SCROLL ACANTHUS LEAF FRONT FEET WITH FEATHERED LEAVES ABOVE THEM ON CORNERS. INTERIOR OF DRAWERS ARE GOLDEN OAK. DRESSER OR STEEL CASTERS. ELABORATELY CARVED SKIRT ON THREE SIDES. A TOP QUALITY MADE PIECE IN ITS DAY, AND SCARCE TO FIND TODAY. THE HARP WITH MIRROR FRAME MEASURES 46" TALL BY 54" WIDE BY 1-1/2" DEEP. THE DRESSER MEASURES 33" TALL BY 47-1/2" WIDE BY 27" DEEP.
