ANTIQUE MILK SCALE MARKED CHATILLON'S IMPROVED CIRCULAR SPRING BALANCE TO WEIGH 30 LB BY OUNCES. IT IS MARKED NEW YORK CITY AND PROBABLY MADE THERE. HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED AND HAS SOME OLD ROPE ATTACHED TO IT STILL. HOOK ON ONE END. DOES WORK BUT THE DIAL IS RUSTY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A BRASS FACE.

COMES FROM HISTORIC HARPER'S MILL IN BROOCKNEAL, VA. MILL DATES FROM THE 1800'S OR BEFORE AND PRODUCED GROUND CORN MEAL. I RECENTLY ATTENDED AN AUCTION AT THIS SITE WAY BACK IN THE VIRGINIA WOODS AND WILL BE LISTING SEVERAL GOODIES FROM THE MILL. THIS WAS FOUND HANGING ON SOME OLD FARM EQUIPMENT.
