ANTIQUE CHINESE STERLING SILVER REPOUSSE 3p TEA POT SET

This is an antique sterling silver 3-piece tea set with a floral motif in excellent condition. It is extremely heavy, high quality, heavy gauge sterling silver from Shanghai retailer, Luen Hing. Circa early 1900's. On this set, the makers signature hallmark sits above Luen Hings on each piece. An exquisite, curvaceous solid sterling repousse design surrounds the entire bowl and pedestal of each piece. The sterling silver handle and spout have ivory insulators to keep the handle from becoming too hot to pick up. The teapot has an attached hinged lid with a beautiful scalloped top. The rim of each piece has a Chinese key design that borders the lip. It has a deep rich patina but could be polished to a bright finish if so desired. The weight, detail and craftsmanship are truly remarkable and is sure to delight collectors. The teapot stands approximately 6 1/2 inches tall, 3 3/4 inches in diameter at the pot and 9 1/2 inches from handle to spout. The sugar bowl is 5 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches in diameter at the base and 4 inches at the widest portion of the bowl. The cream pot is over 4 inches tall, 2 3/4 inches at the base, 3 1/2 at the widest portion of the bowl and 6 inches handle to spout. I am starting this auction with no reserve.
