Listed is a darling antique composition & cloth baby doll, circa late1930s-40s. The doll measures 24" and has a composition head, arms & legs with a cloth stuffed body. She was the classic lovable baby doll with the large chubby arms/legs and body. Although unmarked, this doll was definitely made by Horsman due to the molded curls on her forehead and open mouth with a felt tongue and two teeth. She is shown in Don Jensen's Horsman Dolls reference book and was one of the Montgomery Ward dolls, made by Horsman for the large department store, especially at Xmas time. Her composition head and body are in excellent condition, with no splits or cracks, and her fingers/toes are intact. Her cloth body is clean and odor free. She has large blue glassine "flirty" eyes with full lashes. Her hair is molded curls and painted. The doll has had some minor paint touch up to her hair and face, with one tiny repair to her compo near her right eye which is barely noticeable. She is wearing an adorable antique cotton dress with lace trim and a front lace trimmed plaquette with tiny antique buttons. In addition she is wearing an antique dotted swiss bonnet with lace trim. The doll and her clothing are immaculately clean and in excellent condition, coming from a nonsmoking home. Buyer pays ship/ins. I will ship internationally.
