Antique 19th century French miniature portrait hand painted on ivory and housed under glass in a gilt ormolu frame, depicting a beautiful lady, seated amongst a bright red and blue backdrop while holding a fur muff. She wears a red gown trimmed by heavy lace cuffs and collar as well as a large pearl necklace with a blue stone pendant nestled amongst a ribbon bow. The portrait is masterfully hand painted, with vividly bright colors throughout and minute detail-every strand of hair in her powdered wig and feathers of lace cap are visible! A frame of ornate ormolu houses the portrait, edged in a frieze pattern of scrolling foliate décor. Has a loop ring for hanging as well as a metal easel for table top display. In wonderful condition.
