ANTIQUE GEORGE BAXTER PRINT BELLE OF THE VILLAGE FRAMED

This is an antique George Baxter print of the ''Belle of the Village''.Courtney lewis No 348 .The actual print is in good condition with some age spotting in the sky area just to accurate.

By the style of the frame and the gold border we estimate that the picture was framed sometime between 1900 -1915.

The print has a stamped imprint that says ''Published Oct 7 1854 by G .Baxter Proprietor & Patentee London.There is some speculation as to the authenticity of some of these prints as fakes were produced in the 1920's due to the high prices commanded by these prints at the time.We have researched this print to make sure what we are offering is a true print and according to Ebay's reviews and guides on reproduction Baxter print fakes Rule No 7 states that only the Belle of the Harvest had the Patentee stamp as described earlier.Any other print subject made By Baxter having this patentee stamp is to be considered as not a genuine original.We are not expert on the Baxter prints but if we have got it entirely wrong please feel welcome to correct us.

The outer frame measures 29cm x 35cm and the inner picture measures 14.5cm x 20cm  or 11 1/2'' x 14''  & 5 3/4'' x 8'' The back or the picture has hand written pencil sizes ,numbers and words.The picture is under glass .We have tried very hard to get a good shot of the stamp but the glass is bit of a hinderance but it is visible.
