For auction is a genuine antique Schoenhut wood  clown doll dating to the early 1900s and made in Philadelphia, PA.  These clowns were crafted out of wood and were created to be a part of the famous Humpty Dumpty Circus set.  He stands 9" from the tip of his hat down to his feet. He is in very good condition for his age. Many of these dolls today are found repainted and worn. He is not. He is wearing his original floral costume and lace ruff, however, his hat is a different pattern and may be an old replacement. Everything else on him is original. He is made of wood except for his ears, which are leather, and his clothing fabric. He is fully articulated, you can move his head, arms, and legs all around to assume all different positions so he is great to display with old teddy bears and dolls. He is seen in the last photo next to three early teddies that I currently have on auction (bears sold separately--see my other auctions).
