Very good condition vintage hickory wooden shafted Wilson driver brassie.No cracks to club head, neck, or wooden shaft. Simply stamped, “Ted Ray, Seventy-Two, Brassie.”Although not stamped with the Wilson name, this Seventy-Two model was definitely made by Thos. E. Wilson Co.Club is also stamped ‘Ladies’ on the sole.Ted Ray won the British open in 1912 and the U.S. open in 1920.The brass sole plate is still perfectly seated with a great dark honey patina.Face shows some small play nick on the lower part, especially back by the heel(see picture). Nicely intact 12 inch leather wrap grip still with the aluminum end cap intact.41 1/2 inches in total club length.This wood shaft is almost certainly the original and is without cracks or chips. Shaft has just the slightest of bends. Please see my other wood shafted and vintage golf clubs. Some are quite rare. Also listing collectable Ping putters on a regular basis. All without reserve!
