This horse is older, dated 1950 on the front, and a perfect holiday gift and/or decoration. His name on the front label is “HARRY The Hairless Horse” with Design Patent Pending, and he was made in Minnesota by what looks to be the brand name of Trail-Rite. He is well made out of papier mache’ and wood, and seems to be not a commonly found toy. Papier Mache’ is not a common medium for making toys. It shows its age and use, with a patina from years of being played with and loved. Some parts are rubbed away and creased with small cracks from being sat on, but that doesn’t effect the overall structure or strength of the horse. It is handsome and measures 22 inches tall, 29 ½ inches long and 9 inches wide. The rockers, runners and base are of hardwood as are the legs. There are dowels at each end of the base as well as a footrest across it. Legs are attached by screws to the main part of the body. Body is of stamped papier mache’ with the head attached by nails and each side of it held together by heavy staples. Dowel handle through head is missing but is easy to replace; we are currently looking for it. Mane, saddle, tail, ears, eyes and reins are stamped into body. They are highlighted by red and blue handpainting over the white body. This is a nice older toy.

Sometimes the shipping calculator and the invoice are a bit different, and it causes complications if paid before the invoice is sent. I wouldn’t want anyone to overpay or underpay! Thanks!
