RARE! KUTANI HAND PAINTED DUCK
INCREDIBLE FIND! This exquisite Kutani Porcelain Duck is hand painted in the bold and bright "Ko" Kutani color palette with vivid blue, green, yellow ochre, and aubergine purple. The feathers and the head are accented with black enamel. The bird's beak is painted with gold and the feathers are all outlined in gold. The base is unglazed and there is a firing hole in the bottom. This piece measures 11 1/2" long, 7" wide and 7 1/2" high. The label on the bottom reads "Kutani/Satsuma Toyo, Japan Hand Painted". This is a GENUINE KUTANI PIECE and extremely rare and practically impossible to find. After extensive research I have been unable to find another one of these, although I have located much smaller Mandarin Ducks 7" and 5" for $445 and a Crane for $999. The color of the feathers on the Mandarin ducks are in the same exact order and perfectly match the colors and detailing on this piece. There are ABSOLUTELY NO CRACKS OR CHIPS in this piece, it is in MINT CONDITION.
