ANTIQUE MICRO MOSAIC PENDANT - ITALY- 1920's - ESTATE








Here is a lovely antique Micro Mosaic or Millefiori pendant that has three smaller teardrop pieces hanging from it.  The pendant including the drops measures about 2" long and 1" wide. It's in a brass colored setting that is marked Made in Italy on the back. The attached chain is probably original but has discolored over time. 

The colors are quite vibrant in shades of red, green, blue, white, pink and gray.  Because the tiny glass pieces are all set by hand, micro mosaic work is very time consuming and the more glass there is in a piece, the more expensive it was to make.

This piece easily has a couple of hundred tiny glass pieces and is a very high quality - and there isn't a single piece missing even after 80 - 90 years.

It is an excellent example of 1920's micro mosaic work and would make a great addition to any collection.
