Another wonderful needle work item from a New England collectors estate. Over the next few weeks several will be offered. The collection spanned the 19th and 20th centuries and contained items from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

You are bidding for a late Victorian, early Edwardian Mother of Pearl tatting shuttle.

The shuttle has light color MOP n one side and on the other, there seems to be abalone shell.

Looks like steel pins connect the two sides. Wrapped around the middle is pale yellow and pale gold varied cotton thread.

The shuttle measures about 2 7/8" long and has a steel tip nose. Tag written by the previous owner has her notes and date she purchased it.

Bit of wear on edges, otherwise excellent condition.
