UP FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A WONDERFUL HAND CARVED MORTAR. IT IS MISSING IT'S PESTLE, UNFORTUNATELY. MISSING PESTLE REFLECTS LOW STARTING BID FOR THIS GREAT PRIMITIVE PIECE. PIECE WAS RECENTLY PURCHASED AT A DOCTOR'S ESTATE IN THE SOUTH. I SOLD ANOTHER MORTAR FROM THIS COLLECTION EARLIER. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS ORIGINATED IN THE ISLANDS OR PERHAPS THE ORIENT. DETAILING IS SIMPLY AMAZING. MORTAR IS APPROXIMATELY 5.50" TALL AT IT'S TALLEST POINT, IT MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 3" X 4" ACROSS OPENING, AND 4" X 2" ACROSS BASE. I'VE TAKEN MANY PICTURES AS TO CONDITION. IT IS WORN IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES, AND THE PATINA IS FABULOUS!

STAND IS FOR DISPLAY ONLY AND NOT INCLUDED IN AUCTION. SIMPLY A MAGNIFICENT ADDITION TO ANY PRIMITIVE OR MORTAR COLLECTION! JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAY GIFT GIVING SEASON. International items shipped Priority Mail International which provides "Idemnity" coverage. No exceptions please.

Insurance is required on all domestic shipments that have a content value in excess of $99.99.
