THE PATTERN LOOKS LIKE A DAISY AND TRELLIS OR A CRISS-CROSS OR XXX DESIGN AROUND IT. THE LID ALSO HAS THE DAISY AND XXX PATTERN ON IT. "SALT" IS IN RAISED LETTERS ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX. THIS SALT BOX WAS INTENDED TO HANG ON THE WALL OR SIT ON THE TABLE. I SURE AM GLAD THEY DID NOT HANG IT ON THE WALL. THIS MEASURES ABOUT 6" WIDE X 6" WIDE X 5.75" TALL. THE CONDITION OF THIS IS EXCELLENT. NO CHIPS CRACKS OR BREAKS. IF ANYTHING THERE MAY BE A FACTORY FLAW OR TWO THAT IS NOT EVEN WORTH MENTIONING. CHECK OUT THE PICTURES FOR CONDITION. THIS CAME FROM A LADY THAT SAID THIS BELONGED TO HER GRANDMOTHER. IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS NEVER BEEN USED. IT IS OLD AND ORIGINAL. THE LID FITS PERFECTLY. I WILL ALSO BE SELLING (ON MY OTHER EBAY AUCTIONS) SOME OTHER ITEMS THAT CAME FROM THIS LADY LIKE, A BLUE AND WHITE STONEWARE MILK PITCHER, A SLEEPY EYE PITCHER, AND A GERMAN PORCELAIN DOLL.
