Welcome to Keepsake Cottage, where the door is never closed! We're located deep in the heart of Texas, filled to overflowing with wonderful antique quilts. You won't find mass produced quilts here...all of our quilts are guaranteed to be authentic vintage or antique handmade quilts. If they're not, it will be clearly stated, with no word plays to mislead you. I do my best to give an honest description and offer a guarantee on all that I sell. So come on in and browse a while...I know you'll find a quilt to love!

 This beautiful circa 1930 quilt is done in a unique and dynamic pattern, Ring Around the Star.

Quilt is all cotton and entirely hand stitched. The stars are made with feedsack, clothing, and other scraps from the quilters bag. There's a 3" wide border that may have been added later to cover wear. The backing is a lovely print with tiny red flowers on a sunshine yellow ground.

The quilting on this is fabulous! There's floral quilting done on all the large white blocks and smaller tan tan blocks. The purple border is covered with feather quilting. All quilting is hand done at 7-8 stitches per inch, counting one side only. Be sure to click on the images to see close-ups of the quilting.

Size is 60" x 80"(+/-).

This quilt shows wear, but it's not super noticeable due to the busy pattern. I've shown a close-up of the worst in the last picture. In the picture of the full size quilt, the wear is on the bottom left and up the left strip of purple border. There's also wear on some of the feedsack pieces, but it's even harder to find. There are some light stains.
