ANTIQUE SHAKER LEATHER FLOWER PIN CUSHION PINCUSHION
(This week: a fine collection of early shaker and hand made sewing items! Check out my other items!)

This little late 19th c. pincushion is made of leather and silk and is in the rare form of a tulip-type flower. The style and workmanship suggests that it's Shaker-made (the Shakers did make leather sewing accessories that were dyed different colors, including red, according to B. Gordon's Shaker textiles.)  Feels to be wool or cotton-stuffed.
CONDITION: Good condition, with light soiling to the back and wear to the edge trim. There's a tiny split where the silk meets the leather. There's material underneath so it's not in danger of leaking.
SIZE: 3 1/4" L.
