Place your bids on this antique soldier's French luxury tax exempt booklet, c. 1919.  The inside of the cover is hand-signed and hand-dated in ink as follows: "CE Copeland Feb. 15, 1919."  The following is hand-written in ink on the cover: "Nice [No.] 293."  The booklet is in very nice estate condition, with a crisp, bold signature.  Four coupons are missing, having been used in France by Copeland.  The booklet measures approximately 3" x 6".

While serving in the military in France, soldiers were issued these luxury tax exemption booklets allwoing an exemption from paying luxury taxes on articles purchased during the stay in France.
