Notes: NWA 1195 is interesting in that is was the 26^th Martian meteorite ever found. It was found as two separate pieces at different times in the remote Sahara Desert near the Oasis of Saf Saf.  Even though the two pieces sat for countless millennia apart, they fit back together perfectly when finally reunited in the United States where a casting was made of both halves.  It carries the nick name “Lucky 26” since it was found in two pieces thus considered twice as lucky as the ever popular “Lucky 13” which is DAG 476, the 13^th Martian meteorite ever found. Important scientific discoveries were made because of this meteorite and it has been the talk of scientists for some time.  It is well represented in the media and several interesting articles can be found online.
