DescriptionANTIQUE STERLING TATTING SHUTTLE EXTENDED POINT Tatting is one of the gentle arts of Victorian times, an 18th century form of Needlework that originated in Europe, it is made with a thread and shuttle.This sterling tatting shuttle is extremely unique. It is clearly marked sterling on one side and on the other side is a truly lovely design. At first I thought it was enamel but now as I look at it closely, it looks like it is silk blue and pink flowers with green leaves a a small gold stitch in the center of each flower done on a background of ivory silk thread in a sterling "frame". Whatever, the workmanship is incredible. I don't know too much about tatting shuttles but I know this one is old - it used to reside in my grandmother's sewing basket. There is also some very old thread still in place. It has an extended point and measures approximately 2 3/4" long. In any case, it's in wonderful condition (the sterling does need a polish but I thought I'd let the next owner do that. Successful bidder pays $6.65 priority shipping with insurance. PaymentFor shipping within the United States, the price includes insurance (unless specifically specified in item description). ShippingWe generally use the U.S. Post Office Prioity Mail for shipments. If it is a compact disc, cassette, or other media, we use media mail as the least expensive method. Occasionally, for heavy items, we use parcel post, but will give you the option of paying additionally for priority mail. Priority mail is sent insured with delivery confirmation (included in shipping costs). Insurance for media mail and parcel post is optional for the buyer.
Terms of SaleWe want our customers to be satisfied on all items we sell. If the item is not as described (and we try to describe all items fully, but occasionally something does get by us) you may return it within seven (7) days of receipt for full refund of the final sales price. Please contact us by email for authorization and instructions and we will work out a mutually satisfactory resolution. Otherwise, all sales become final seven (7) days after receipt.
