THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT CAME OFF OF THE STEEPLE FROM THE BONDVILLE METHODIST CHURCH UP IN STRATTON VERMONT. THE CHURCH WAS MOVED TO THAT LOCATION AROUND 1865 AND THIS WEATHERVANE WAS ON IT THEN AND HAS BEEN THERE SINCE. THE SMALL BALL HAS BEEN PRETTY WELL RUSTED AWAY OVER THE YEARS, BUT THE LARGER BALL IS IN FINE SHAPE. AS IT SITS IT WEIGHS AROUND 30 POUNDS. THE DIRECTIONALS ARE HEAVY AND STURDY AND VERY MUCH LOCKED IN PLACE. THE WOOD PIECE ON THE BOTTOM IS ORIGINAL AND THAT IS HOW IT WAS ATTACHED TO THE STEEPLE. DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION YOU MIGHT WANT TO PICK THIS UP OR WE CAN TALK ABOUT MY DELIVERING IT TO YOU FOR A FEE. I MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET THIS SHIPPED VIA FEDEX BUT THERE IS NO OPTION FOR THAT ON EBAY. I BOUGHT SOME WONDERFUL THINGS FROM THIS CHURCH AND ITS BEYOND ME WHY THE TOWN NEVER BOUGHT THIS STUFF FOR HISTORICAL REASONS.
