This is a beautiful Antique Victorian Amethyst Ring of fine quality and excellent condition.  The stone is a natural Amethyst of lavender color, clear with no inclusions, a truly sparkling stone of fine brilliance and no defects - the Amethyst measures 15 mm x 11 mm (about 9/16" x 7/16") and is securely set in many prongs, typical of exceptional Victorian jewelry.  The finger size is 7 1/2, weight 5.4 grams.  The goldwork is excellent and heavy with a patterned band in the sides, a trait of fine Victorian rings of the 19th century.  A lovely early ring, Circa 1880.
