An antique, Victorian style shell change purse.

This elegant change purse is made from mottled brown shell material. It is inlaid with Sterling Silver & Gold leaves & swirls & a Gold shield cartouche (not engraved) in the piquet manner. It has a gold latch & hinge. It has blue, pleated moire fabric sides.

It is in superb condition for its age with no cracks, splits or gouges to the shell body. No rips, tears or fraying to fabric but some stains. Bid now! You are not spending, you are investing.

It measures about 4" (10 cm.) x 2 1/4" (5.5 cm.) x 7/8" (2 cm.).

It has no maker's marks but was purchased in England. It was either made in England or France & dates to the late 19th Century.
