Description

Welcome to Sabinemoon...and points WEST!   We are very pleased to announce expansion from the Pineywoods of rural East Texas...to the "Rustic Elegance" of Ft. Worth...or as most call it, COWTOWN.   Where the west began...and still exists.  In addition to the best-of-the-best antique folk-art quilts, we will be adding some diverse inventory...listing just a few items each week.

We hope many of you take this opportunity to add to your "gathering".  We sell without reserve -- bid with confidence -- all listings quality for our standard SATISFACTION-GUARANTEE -- if you don't like it, you don't have to keep it.  So take a look...visit often...and CELEBRATE true auctions and eBay at its best with Sabinemoon!

Item:                    TO-DIE-FOR excellent condition 1930s-era quilt -- old pattern called Crossed Tulips or may be Morning Glory -- doesn't matter one hoot what you call it -- it's FABULOUS, with great VISUALS showing up against a snowy-white background -- just about as good as it gets -- bought in a small collection purchased in East Texas -- this is hand-done by a master seamstress, and as ELEGANT as they come -- if you're trolling for the perfect SWEET SPRING or SUMMER quilt to add to your high-end quilt collection...well, here it is folks -- it's light-weight and very fine -- this is ONE amazing heirloom-quality quilt, that will please you and future generations -- don't miss it!

Materials:             All old 100% cottons -- nice-quality fabrics that were obviously purchased at the nearest dry-goods store just for the construction of this quilt -- this is NOT a scrap quilt -- it was most assuredly created and owned by a prominent family as a showpiece or parlor quilt -- probably only brought out for company -- JUST THE BEST colors of bubblegum pink, lavender, and emerald green which are all good stable fabrics and color -- no homespun/home-dyed job, this is the REAL DEAL -- and very rare to find in this condition -- very narrowly banded in emerald green, and backed in the same snowy cotton seen on the front of quilt -- straight edges with nice slightly-curved corners.

Batting:                 Very light-weight old hand-carded cotton that came straight from the family cotton patch -- obviously carefully cleaned of seeds and debris -- razor-thin and elegant -- a gorgeous, SHOWY quilt.

Handwork:            Totally hand-pieced, hand-appliqued in nice blind-stitching and hand-quilted in a very plentiful pattern which includes double-rows, grids, floral designs, triple-potted tulips (TO DIE FOR!) and flourishy plume patterns at 8-9 teeny stitches per inch -- literally QUILTED TO DEATH and SATURATED in quilting stitches -- this master seamstress was definitely showing off her handwork skills -- the handwork is INCREDIBLE -- LOTS of time, talent and LOVE went into the making of this piece.

Size:                       74" x 76"

Condition:             Very excellent condition --  clean, strong and sturdy -- light wear/gentle usage -- colors crisp and vibrant -- everything intact, except a couple of very small areas in the white background that show some thinning and very light shattering -- (the backing also shows some thinning, which has absolutely no effect on the front of the quilt) -- all the applique work is absolutely intact -- edges in wonderful shape -- batting in nice shape, due to all the quilting stitches -- just a couple tiny faint-colored age spots, that are completely insignificant in the overall scheme of things -- nothing else to report, and FOR SURE no apologies here -- has EXCEPTIONAL display value, as you can see in the pics -- ready for your bed, stacked in your quilt cabinet, hung over the door of your jelly cupboard -- or hang immediately as SPECTACULAR wall-art -- a true SHOW-STOPPER...the SWEETEST EYE-CANDY that I've seen in a long time -- this one is fully capable of being the SUPER-STAR of any quilt collection!

Please email any questions.  Priority shipping with delivery confirmation will be $10.95 -- insurance is extra, and optional.  OUTSIDE THE U.S.A., SHIPPING WILL BE QUOTED AT END OF AUCTION -- BE PREPARED TO PAY GLOBAL AIR PRIORITY RATES ONLY. Check our other listings for many MORE great antique/vintage estate items from THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS.  Your satisfaction, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and positive feedback for both of us is our goal.  Thanks...and HAPPY TRAILS!
